Unilever is one of the largest fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies in the world, with operations in over 190 countries. As a corporate sustainability champion, Unilever strived to make its Personal Care and Liquids Factory in Dubai, UAE as green as possible. Yellow Door Energy successfully commissioned the solar plant on October 1, 2018. Through the solar agreement, Unilever switched to clean energy and reduced its electricity costs, all without any upfront investment.
Located in Dubai Industrial Park, the ground-mounted solar plant comprises of more than 3,100 solar panels, generating enough clean electricity to meet 30% of the factory’s energy consumption needs.
