As the Country Director for South Africa at Yellow Door Energy, Mohamed provides leading businesses with solar and a multitude of other sustainable energy solutions. With close to two decades of experience in renewable energy, he combines his engineering knowledge with business acumen to provide the best-in-class solutions for businesses.
Prior to joining Yellow Door Energy, Mohamed held various leadership roles at energy companies in South Africa. He was leading WorleyParsons Energy’s business for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He also served as the CEO of Areva Southern Africa, was strategy head at Harmony Gold and the capital program head at Eskom, Africa’s largest utility.
As a life-long learner, Mohamed was director of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa. While there, he had the privilege of leading President Mandela’s Task Team on Technology Risk Mitigation. During his tenure with the Task Team, he founded and led various innovative technology start-ups, including formerly Nasdaq listed CellPoint Systems and Taqaco.
Mohamed holds an MBA from Newport University, a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering from University of Cape Town in South Africa.
