Yellow Door Energy, the leading commercial solar developer in the Middle East, has successfully completed the largest ground-mounted private solar plant in the UAE for Nestlé Middle East.

Located at Nestlé’s Al Maha factory in Dubai South, the solar plant houses over 20,000 photovoltaic (PV) panels and generates 7.2 gigawatt-hours of electricity per year. It will supply 85% of the factory’s annual electricity consumption and eliminate 4.5 million kilograms of CO2 per year.

As the solar developer, Yellow Door Energy finances, designs, builds, commissions, operates and maintains the solar plant for the duration of the solar lease with Nestlé. A solar lease enables businesses to go solar without any upfront capital investment, while saving between 10-40% of their electricity bills and reducing their carbon emissions.

We would like to congratulate Nestlé for the launch of the solar plant at Al Maha. We look forward to operating and maintaining the solar plant to provide clean energy and support Nestlé’s target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.”
