Yellow Door Energy Brings Solar to Footwear Manufacturer in Pakistan

Yellow Door Energy, the leading distributed solar developer in the Middle East, has signed its first solar agreement in Pakistan with footwear manufacturer Starlet Innovations (Private) Limited.

As the provider of the solar power purchase agreement (PPA), Yellow Door Energy finances, designs, builds, commissions, operates and maintains the solar plant for the duration of the PPA.

With almost four decades of footwear manufacturing experience, our company needs to remain competitive and innovative. Yellow Door Energy provides a solution that addresses both objectives. The solar plant will help us significantly reduce our electricity bills and lower our carbon footprint. We look forward to having our facility powered by the sun for many years to come.”

Mr. Mohammed Younas Director of Starlet

Meeting an impressive 50% of Starlet’s energy needs, the rooftop solar plant will provide over one thousand megawatt-hours of clean energy and reduce carbon emissions by 690 thousand kilograms annually, the equivalent of taking 150 cars off the road.

“Yellow Door Energy is honored to contribute to Pakistan’s national energy target of 30% renewable energy by 2030. Our power purchase agreement with Starlet is the first of many as we plan to invest $20 million in solar assets in Pakistan in the near future. We congratulate Starlet for its forward-thinking initiative and sustainability leadership.”

Rory McCarthy, Chief Commercial Officer of Yellow Door Energy
